Aimhigher London South has provided a range of consultancy services that assess the quality of Higher Education Careers, Information and Guidance systems and procedures in schools and colleges to ensure that learners progress to appropriate courses at 16 and 19 years of age.
The areas that institutions have been supported and advised on are as follows:
- Planning and development of a Learner Progression Framework
- Planning and development of a HE Careers Information and Advice Curriculum for each year group
- Assessing the effectiveness of an HE Careers, Information and Advice Curriculum in providing information and aspiring learners to progress onto post 16 and Higher Education
- Assessing institutional UCAS procedures and identifying areas for development
- Assessing the effectiveness of Information, Advice and Guidance, and to further support a planned improvement programme for those target groups who have a history of under representation at University or on selected courses
- Assessing appropriate links with Universities and Further Education Colleges and support the development of improved links where required
- Assessing and identifying those resources and activities that support teachers in schools and colleges to provide appropriate and up to date information that aids learners and their parents to make informed and appropriate choices to progress onto University
- Plan and develop transition activities from Primary to Secondary school linking parents and universities
