Introduction

This document is the prospectus for Aimhigher London South for the academic year 2012/13. The document outlines the rationale, scope and subscriptions to meet the costs of providing the services we can deliver.
The Purpose
Aimhigher London South is working to ensure fair access to Higher Education for young people from non-traditional backgrounds in partner schools and colleges. We do this by linking schools, colleges, universities, education providers and employers together to work effectively.
This network builds on and develops the previous work delivered by the government -funded partnership. We focus on three key areas;
- Professional Support - (such as how to identify and work with the most appropriate students from low participation neighbourhoods and encourage them to think about applying to HE)
- Co-ordinating activities for target groups - (this might involve taster days, mentoring, masterclasses, student ambassador led activities)
- Collecting Data and Evaluating Activity (such as key information from those learners that have potential to progress onto university coming from non-traditional backgrounds)
