Sports Summer Schools

In partnership with Aimhigher, London South Bank University and Kingston University both offer non-residential Sports summer schools to Year 10 and Year 12 for students in 2010

They are designed to encourage students to think about a possible career in the industry and to explore different qualifications they can gain. These Summer Schools are also a valuable opportunity for pupils to experience university life firsthand.

The Year 10 Summer School at Kingston University ran from from Monday 12^th April to Wednesday 14^th April 2010 and will include:

Sport science taster session at Kingston University
BTEC sports taster morning at Kingston College
Competitive sports afternoon at St Mary’s
A trip to Twickenham stadium
A talk on sports marketing

The Year 12 Summer School at London South Bank University will run from Wednesday 9^th June to Friday 11^th June 2010 and will include:

UCAS applications workshop
Field trip to a sporting venue
Sports science workshops in Nutrition and Psychology of Sport
Talks on working in sports sponsorship & marketing, sports product design, working as a fitness coach, sport rehabilitation & physio and other related professions
Olympic Site Tour
