Aimhigher London South Summer Schools
What are Aimhigher Higher Education Summer Schools?
The programme provides a taste of university life to Year 10, 11 and 12 students who might not realise their potential or whose circumstances could lead them to consider a limited range of subjects/institutions, or not apply for higher education at all.
An experience for students to develop their skills in team work, project planning, problem solving and communication.Learning is interactive, students take part in lectures, group discussions and practicals in the same way as if they were at university. A social experience providing students the chance to see what university life is like when you’re not studying - The opportunity to share experiences with current HE students who act as mentors
- Students will get advice about how to manage their finances, how to apply for university and about the kinds of job opportunities that are open to graduates
- Summer Schools are completely FREE as they’re funded by the Aimhigher programme. Students won’t have to pay for food, or transport (or accommodation if they choose a residential Summer School)
- A chance to think about aspirations and hopes for their future, and will show students some of the many choices higher education can give them
